LED Panels
What are the advantages of professional LED panels?
Professional LED panels have many advantages that become particularly clear in comparison with conventional light sources. As a rule, they replace fluorescent tubes, but you can also use them to replace any other type of ceiling light or ceiling spotlight.
If you compare LED panels with fluorescent tubes or other conventional ceiling lights, it quickly becomes clear: they are much more efficient. On the one hand, this is because they consume significantly less electricity. So you can save up to 70% on energy costs. Secondly, they have a longer service life and are not as susceptible to defects. This reduces replacement and maintenance costs. This is not only good for your wallet, but also for the environment. LED panels and also don't contain any toxic gasses and can be recycled.
Why is a professional LED panel particularly suitable for the office?
LED panels are ideally suited for offices because of several reasons: Firstly, they are very easy to install in grid ceilings. This not only makes installation particularly smooth, but also creates a very even ceiling appearance because the lights fit in perfectly. Thanks to their high luminous flux, they also emit enough lumens to guarantee good ambient lighting in the office.
Another particularly attractive feature of this type of lighting is its UGR value. This is usually below 19, which is why people cannot feel dazzled by the light source. This is because the UGR <19 panels do not emit their light in a targeted manner but diffusely. This creates indirect lighting that does not dazzle the people around it and is perfect for the basic lighting of a room or area.
LED panels are also ideal for the office in terms of colour temperature. They are mainly available in the light colours cool white (4,000 K) and daylight white (6,500 K). These support the concentration and attention of employees and ensure that even the smallest details become visible. Lights that are especially suitable for office use can be found in our "Office Lighting" category.
What are the different types of LED panels?
What is the difference between surface-mounted and recessed LED panels? Surface-mounted panels are mounted directly on the ceiling. We provide these with the information "surface mounting", which you can also filter by in our shop.
Recessed panels, on the other hand, are designed to be recessed into the ceiling. This is particularly suitable for grid ceilings, as here you simply have to replace a ceiling panel with the LED panel. Most of our products are recessed panels. However, with the appropriate accessories, you can also mount them directly on the ceiling or hang them below the ceiling.
What is the difference between professional LED panels and inlay lights? Inlay lights and LED panels refer to one and the same product. The term "inlay" refers to the installation of the panels in grid ceilings. There, the light sources are "inserted" so that they are evem with the ceiling. However, as our "LED inlay lights" can usually also be installed on surfaces or suspended from the ceiling, we prefer the term "LED panel".
Which LED panels are suitable for damp rooms?
If you want to install an LED panel in the bathroom or in a damp room, you must pay attention to the IP protection class of the respective product. This always consists of two digits. The first indicates how well the light is protected against the penetration of solid objects (such as dust). The second indicates the protection against water and steam.
As a basic rule, you can remember: LED lights with an IP44 protection class are protected against water splashes on all sides. Therefore they are suitable to be used in the bathroom. Products with a protection class of IP65, on the other hand, are completely dust-tight and protected against strong jets of water. If you want to install your LED panel in a room where it is likely to come into contact with water or even be cleaned with it, you should choose products with this IP protection class. Note: Don't just look for the right protection class, but also make sure that you choose a high-quality product. How do you mount an LED panel?
You have several options for mounting an LED panel on the ceiling. The simplest is to install it in a grid ceiling. Here you can simply remove one of the ceiling tiles and insert the LED panel.
It is also possible to mount the LED light directly on a standard ceiling. For this, you usually need a suitable accessory. In many cases, this is a frame that you mount on the ceiling. You can then insert the LED panel into it.
Another way of mounting is to hang the LED panel. Suitable accessories are also available for this in our shop. These include ropes and carabiners that you first mount on the ceiling. The advantage of this type of mounting is that you can bring the light source a little closer to the floor. This is particularly advantageous in rooms with high ceilings, as it means that you lose less luminous flux in areas where it is not needed.
