Energy efficiency class | D |
i
Every bulb or fixture has an energy efficiency class A to G. Energy label A is the most efficient and G the least. LED lighting is the most sustainable lighting technique. Even if a LED bulb is rated E or lower, they still save 70% of energy compared to conventional lighting with the same energy label. Why is it the same label then? To motivate LED brands to get even more durable.
|
Energy efficiency class old | A++ | |
Average Lifetime (h) | 60000 |
Technology | LED |
i
The technology indicates the operating base of a light source. The most well-known and energy-efficient example is LED. Other techniques include Halogen, gas discharge, TL (fluorescent) and the light bulb.
|
---|---|---|
Replaces (Watt) | 28 |
i
This indicates which wattage of your old/conventional lighting is replaced by this LED product.
|
Wattage | 17 |
i
The wattage indicates how much energy a light source consumes. With LED lighting, the wattage is considerably lower than with conventional lighting. LED lamps with a higher wattage generally also have a higher light intensity (number of lumens).
|
Dimmable | Not Dimmable |
i
When you dim lights, the full power does not have to be used. You therefore save extra on energy costs. Dimmable lamps can also be used to create an extra cosy atmosphere. Keep in mind that you need a LED dimmer to dim LED lights.
|
Cap / Base | G5 |
i
The cap/base of a bulb is the part that connects it to the socket in the fixture. E27 (Edison screw) and E24 (small Edison screw) caps/bases are among the most popular, although this depends on your location. GU10 is generally the most common cap/base for spotlights. Check which cap/base you need carefully as many other types are also available.
|
Colour temperature (Kelvin) | 6500K - Daylight |
i
|
Colour Code | 865 Daylight |
i
The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K).
|
Colour Rendering (Ra) | 80-89 |
i
Colour rendering is also known as Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and indicates the extent to which a light source reproduces colours, compared to the actual colours in daylight. Products with a good (80-89 Ra) or excellent (90-99 Ra) colour rendering show minimal deviations in the colour spectrum.
|
Luminous Flux (Lumen) | 2600 |
i
The number of lumens (lm) is the light output of a light source. The higher the number of lumens, the more light the light source emits. The wattage and the number of lumens are not connected to each other. An LED lamp with a low wattage can have a higher number of lumens than a conventional lamp with a high wattage.
|
Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) | 152 |
i
The Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) indicates how efficiently a light source uses energy. We divide the number of lumens by the wattage. The higher the number, the more efficient a product is in terms of energy consumption. LED lighting has a considerably higher lumen/Watt ratio than conventional lighting.

This filter allows you to refine your search by selecting specific types of light sources. Choose from options such as LED bulbs, LED tubes, or LED spots to find the perfect lighting solution for your needs.
|
LED Starter included | No |
i
You need a LED starter if the fluorescent lighting in your current fixture also contains a starter. In that case, you have a fixture with a conventional ballast (EM). A LED starter replaces your current starter and ensures that a LED tube works.
|
---|---|---|
Requires Ballast | No | |
Ballast for LED Tubes | Universal – Can match any installation |
i
A ballast can be seen as an energy regulator that switches on the lighting. Is there a starter in the fixture? Then this is a conventional ballast (EM). Fixtures with an electronic ballast (HF) don't have a starter. A LED driver can be compared to an electronic ballast and only works with LED lighting.
|
LED Tube Output | High Efficiency |
i
High Output - Gives higher lumen output vs standard tube
Standard Output - average lumen output Ultra Output - Highest Lumen out, ceiling must be over 4 metres High Efficiency - High lumen lumen / watt ratio Ultra Efficiency - LED tubes with best energy label (A + B) |
Length | 115cm |
i
The most common lengths for T8 LED Tubes are 60cm, 90cm, 120cm and 150cm. For T5 LED Tubes this concerns 55cm, 85cm, 115cm and 145cm. Switching to LED? Then always check the length of your current fluorescent lighting. Do you want to know more? Then read our blog!

SubstiTUBE UN HE
This Osram SubstiTUBE T5 UN HE LED tube offers excellent energy efficiency. It uses just 17 watts of power to replace a fluorescent tube that uses 28 watts. That means energy savings of 39% can be realised which makes it better for the environment and your wallet too. It has the best possible energy label of A++.
Design features
The special technology used in the manufacturing of this glass tube ensures it won't bend. It's 115 cm long, has G5 caps and is suitable for use in temperatures ranging between -20°C to +50°C.
Long lifespan and warranty
A lifespan of 60,000 hours means that this LED tube will last around 16 years if it's on for 10 hours every day! That's far longer than a fluorescent tube that has an average lifespan of just 10,000 hours. Better still, LED tubes maintain the quality of their lighting far better than fluorescent tubes do as they approach the end of their lifespan. For extra peace of mind, the tube is covered by an all-in warranty of 5 years.
Areas of application
This tube is suitable for general lighting applications in a variety of areas including supermarkets, department stores, public buildings and industrial spaces. It has a colour temperature of 6500K and emits a light that's similar to daylight. It's ideal for areas where good visibility is important.
Compatible with electronic ballast and mains
This LED tube is compatible with fixtures that have an electronic ballast (ones without a starter). It can also be connected directly to the mains. When connecting to the mains, the ballast needs to be removed.
Note that this tube cannot be connected to fixtures that have a conventional ballast (ones with a starter).
